Also, living in comfort among your own kind is only appealing when your own kind does not insist on regulating your life as if you were a prize-winning heifer. I know we've been through this before, Al, but - if you only tried living outside the Corps for a while, you'd see there can be happiness there, too.

Mundanes regulate your life outside the Corps all the time, Caro, and I don't see how playing by their rules, constantly apologizing for what you are, would make anyone happy. I know you weren't, long before the Reeducation Center. And those Tower people you keep mentioning - they're telepaths, aren't they? Can you really say a stiffled life among mundanes could compare to this? You have to give the Corps a chance. The true Corps.
