Kiku had been dreaming something rather pleasant when his boyfriend's voice cut through his sleep and started to wake him up. He sounded anxious and somewhat nervous. What would be bothering his Aru-kun that he would sound that way ( ... )

Alfred was still partially in shock, so it took him a moment to realize that Kiku's mother was talking to him again. "Oh... Uhh, yeah; I- slept great, thanks..." he managed to answer. He glanced over at Kiku, who looked as embarrassed as he felt. Mrs. Honda seemed a bit embarrassed as well, but all things considered, she seemed to be taking the news pretty well. It helped Alfred to relax a little ( ... )

When his mother left the room Kiku took a deep breath and practically tripped his way over to his closet. Breakfast in the kitchen...informal...slacks and a button down shirt. Showing Alfred around Tokyo and their impromptu visit to Disneyland had called for jeans and a sweater...But this was breakfast with his parents.

"Hai. Okasan is very sweet to me. I...I admit I did not expect her to be so warm to the idea of us being together. I was hoping to be awake and dressed before they arrived home."

'Being together...Still such a strange concept and yet...so comforting...' He thought.

"What is...Otosan like?" He repeated the question as he looked through his closet full of clothes. "He is...very serious. Very...professional." He said, finally choosing a black shirt and black slacks, quickly stripping off his pajamas and pulling on his clothes for the day.

"Hurry, Aru-kun. Breakfast will done be very soon."

"Professional?" he said uncertainly, noting Kiku's choice of clothes. "Ok..." The pants fit him very nicely, and the shirt looked good too, but all the black seemed a bit conservative; a bit formal. It made him wonder if maybe he should pick out another set of clothes for the day... something a little nicer. Did he have anything nicer ( ... )

Kiku kept a rather stoic face and forced himself to swallow the bite of rice he was eating, before he turned to Alfred and whispered to him. "Hai, Alfred-kun. He...he demanded grandchildren. We do not have to think about that, Alfred-kun..." Because in all honesty the idea of having children scared the living hell out of Kiku. He was not ready for children, no matter how important his father thought it was to plan ahead.

"At least he seems okay with us..." Kiku said, then took another bite of rice.

"I knew he would be, Kiku-chan." Miki replied, before continuing to eat her own breakfast. "So what are your plans for today, Kiku-chan and Alfred-chan?" She asked.

"Oh...Uhm. I do not think we have planned anything for today, Okasan." Kiku said, then turned to Alfred. "Is there anything you wish to do today, Aru-kun?"

"Ok, good, cause I'm not ready for kids any time soon!" said Alfred, clearly relieved. He paused for a minute, thinking about what they could do. "Well, why don't we just hang out, go sightseeing or something? I did tell Matt that I'd take pictures of Tokyo while we were here... You can take me to all the other cool, tourist places in the city!... After we change clothes, of course," he added, pulling at the collar on his shirt. "I feel overdressed ( ... )

Kiku's eyes widened when Alfred pulled his bass out from behind his clothing. He hadn't played it since the last time he was home, which was months ago, and he'd been politely asked to not play it while his father was home without making sure first that it wouldn't disrupt his work ( ... )

Alfred's face lit up at Kiku's words. "Wow, really, Kiku? So you've been playing base for what, five, six years now? Why didn't you tell me? That's about how long I've been playing guitar; I bet you're pretty good!"

In fact, if Alfred had to bet, he would guess that Kiku was probably more than just pretty good at the base... His boyfriend had a tendency to greatly understate, or downplay his abilities, since he was so modest. Alfred knew this very well by now.

"You know, we still don't have anyone to play base for our band... I mean, I play it a little bit, but I'm much better with a regular guitar." Then, as if he had just thought of this idea, he said, "Hey, you should play something for me! Will you? If you're nervous, I can even play with you, if you want..."

He flashed his boyfriend an excited grin as he got up to search for the suitcase with his guitar equipment in it... He really did bring way too much stuff, but it was all proving to be useful. Well, most of it, anyway.

Taro Honda stood quietly by the door. His son was currently being serenading to, it seemed, and as hard and business like as Taro appeared to be, he found the scene to be quite...sweet. He smiled softly, watching his son...

Kiku was wide-eyed as Alfred began to play, and a faint blush crept up his neck and into his cheeks. Alfred had always been so sweet to Kiku, and since their first date when Alfred had gotten up on stage and sung to him at that restaurant in Hawaii, he'd sung to him a few times. Each time left Kiku speechless, breathless and usually blushing at least a little...

Like every song Alfred sang to him, the words were sweet and romantic in a very Alfred sort of way, and Kiku appreciated it so very much. Alfred really had no idea what listening to him sing did to Kiku... Kiku had perfect pitch and was very much an audiophile. He appreciated high quality music, and Alfred's voice when he sang with such passion absolutely thrilled Kiku and sent chills through his body ( ... )

Alfred exchanged a quick, suspicious glance with his boyfriend before quietly agreeing to follow Taro into the hallway. "Ok, sure..." were his last words before he shut the bedroom door behind him. He didn't sound so sure though, and Taro didn't give him any reason to be with his vague and off-putting words ( ... )

Taro sat behind his desk and motioned for Alfred to sit in the chair in front of it. "I see you're a very serious young man when it concerns two things." He said, lacing his fingers together and resting his arms on the desk. "Music...and apparently my son." He cleared his throat and eyed Alfred, though no emotion showed on his face.

"So tell me...how correct am I in that assumption?" He asked. "Are those the only things you are serious about? And exactly how serious are you?"

Alfred obliged Taro's request and sat down in the empty chair. He shifted uncomfortably as the man stared at him silently, waiting for an answer. For the life of him though, he just couldn't sit still. It was that feeling of being trapped, in a room with an intimidating man, at his desk, in his office... That was it! The office... It felt like being in a principle's office all over again... Why did he have to close the door ( ... )
