SUMMARY | There's a bit of a commotion in the town square of Mac Anu, with a multitude of booths appearing in the afternoon and a few activities spread out in multiples. Once you enter the town square, you can't leave until you've done all of the activities! It's up to you to make sure any passerby in the next couple nights are steered straight through Mac Anu, lest they linger and prey on your fellow players!
LOG | For a change, the silver-haired mod was in a decent mood. Maybe it was because he let coding do all the work instead of building all of the booths, maybe it was the mood of the festival, maybe he just ate a really awesome breakfast. Whatever it was, Kain was wandering around as he inspected the NPCs working at the booths, checking that there was enough rice paper, watercolors, paint brushes, and tea lights with his arms crossed inside the loose yukata he wore. The geta added an extra inch or so to his short stature, and the goldfish painted on his yukata seeming to swim up from the hem to his shoulders with every step. Coded to move, really, though it was an addition to what he wore last time.
The mod was most smug with how successfully the restriction coding worked, though. Anyone that entered the square was stuck there until they finished all that was planned. It was a bit of a bummer to put so much work into setup and then a lot of the players don't even appreciate it, you know? Although they literally didn't have much of a choice, it was a bit of a failsafe for the experimental event. Rules are rules, but Kain decided to bend a few to let some monsters run free in the town for the Obon event. It's not like anyone's relatives were actually in The World, so it'd have to do.
The NPCs passed through the barriers without any problems so as not to raise alarm, and to any outsiders, they wouldn't be able to see the direct inside of the barrier or hear any players if they tried to yell for help and pound away fruitlessly. It was for their own good, after all. The GM tucked some stray strands of hair behind an ear and sat down at one of the booths, beginning to assemble the base of his lantern. The next few days should prove quite interesting.
( ooc | 'tis that time! like the log start explained, all characters that happen upon the town square will be stuck inside until they build and decorate their own lanterns, which are to be turned in at the quest kiosk. the following day, all the lanterns are to be hung along a pre-chosen path through the server town. if there aren't at least twenty lanterns, the monsters will wreck havoc on the town and any players outside of the guild building on the night of the 15th! everyone will be in summer yukata once they get in the town square-- if you were in the tanabata event, it's the same outfit, but newcomers can choose their own. the yukata are for keeps! feel free to try and fight the monsters and protect each other, but they're mostly level 25 monsters. it's better to just humor the GMs. :( don't forget to add your character's tag to the log when you join in! )
