One the other hand, you should be writing out of obligation.

Write from your heart not form your head. Why do professor's want to take things that we love like writing and turn it into a chore? They should be encouraging you to write out of your love and passion for it, not out of obligation.

If it is free writing, maybe you can write about whatever you are thinking at that time, or if something is effecting you desire to write, write about it.

You don't know me either- I was flitting through the 'random' selections too- but it was inspiring to read how God is using you and your writing. It made me feel warm and fuzzy, especially now as I've been feeling kind of spiritually useless.

Good job on your papers, and God Bless!

((And chef_pj, your icon is amazing.))
