I was really enjoying this latest episode, right up to the last couple of minutes when it suddenly became all about Sam. Again. Why on earth couldn't they have written Dean as the big damn hero for once? Or even written it so they could each have won a trial. Wow. Switch the brothers' names around and that's exactly what I said almost every ep since the beginning of S4. If Sam is finally getting some time I may even start watching again...

My point wasn't about screen time. I think both brothers share that pretty equally although I know some people don't agree, my point was about storylines. Most of the main storylines have been about Sam; the writers set this one up to be about Dean but switched it right at the end, giving it to Sam.

The entire series is Sam's. The show has never actually been a two lead show.

I was thinking the same thing. I loved Dean's confession about being the "grunt", and I loved Sam's speech about Dean having reasons to live, but still. Just once, let it not be about Sam...
