AW ! Ali !!!! I soooooooooooooooo understand you !!!!!!! I just hate obligatory feasts !!!! and this... more and more !!!!
St Patrick seems funny to me... because I never been dragged in this kind of feasts... But I have been for some others ! *Sigh !*
I'm totally with you, dear !!!!! Just wait your end of term... and have a good drink to celebrate your final exam ! ;))) That's a VERY GOOD occasion !!!!!
I did have a good drink. I went out with some friends on Wednesday night. There was hardly anybody in the pub, which was nice. Quiet and intimate - exactly how I like it!
Well Happy St. Patrick's day to you, even if you're not fully into it. They go mental with Paddy's fever in the pubs in the city, the CBD is crazytown, green hats and whatnot everywhere! lol. Yet another excuse for Aussies to drink. heh.
Actually, I didn't do much of anything to celebrate (except wearing my obligatory green sweatshirt) ... and I certainly didn't sing "Danny Boy." I'm totally with this pub owner:
I didn't even participate in the local parade with my dancing school last Saturday (haven't been to dancing since I sprained my ankle last year), but somebody captured our school on video:
However, this Sunday, we're going to be doing a combined St. Patrick's Day celebration (featuring corned beef and cabbage--not really Irish, I know, but it's delicious), Easter, and birthday party for my sister.
Hehe, he's right to be annoyed but to ban a song? You can't stop drunk people from singing - if you own a pub then you'll just have to put up with it. Of course he got some publicity and where's the harm in that?
Ah yes, city parades. Seems to be pretty big and full. I'm in Ireland's second biggest city and our parades are a joke. It's nice that they let school children in (like they do here) it's just that it's not so interesting for the people standing watching. At least I don't remember it being any fun.
Hope you had a fantastic weekend celebration, though!
