Happy Paddy's Day!
Just a short little entry (well, by my standards!) because it's the Irish national holiday - St Patrick's Day.
I am so tired but at least I'm at home and wasn't crazy enough to go out. I had no class today because there's a college strike - not just students but staff as well - in France. For the past 6 weeks I've had virtually no classes. Which sounds great in theory but in reality going in to college in the hope that you'll have a class and being ultimately disappointed is not a great place to be. The few times I've had class I've been thrilled because at this stage it's more like a novelty than a chore. Anyway hope these strikes end soon so that I can have class! Incidentally it's not all universities and types of colleges that are getting involved. It seems that the arts faculty in my college is by far the worst affected, and of course I just so happen to be an arts student.
Anyway, at least I wasn't stuck inside on an absolutely gorgeous day! I just panned/hung out in the park with my friends (who were taking advantage of the fact that you can drink in a public place in France). They were drunk by 6 or 7pm. I hardly drank a thing - sometimes I don't know whether I was born in the wrong country because I'm so unlike the average Irish person! They're off on some pub-crawl now but I would've fainted with the effort.
I'm too tired to go looking for any shamrock/Ireland related icons to stick on this page, but perhaps I'll share a photo of Ireland with you guys seeing as you don't know what it's like over there.
I guess it is quite green but it really isn't anything but green so it gets a little dull. And note that the weather was very good by Irish standards on the days that I took those photos!
