You know, sometimes I find it comforting watching and listening to what is going on in my country right now from abroad.... I guess I feel less affected. But then when I see images like that and read NY Times articles, it saddens me to know that I can't be there to take part in it all. Nice post.

Interesting.

Clicked through to read the captions of the pictures.

"Three blocks from the White House, protesters tried to rush a security gate. Police briefly locked down the area"

Seems like there's a difference between a person walking into the middle of the town square and expressing his or her views and a person rushing a security gate.

Americans are guaranteed the right to a peaceful protest. This was hardly that. Any drunk ape knows what is going to happen to them if you try to bum-rush a security gate. It is a SECURITY gate. If you don't want to be pepper-sprayed then use your brain.
