Auto Trader is your best bet. Grab the What Car price guide so you know what sort of price you are likely to be able to get for it given age, mileage etc.
When people come to view it, make sure you've got all the documentation there and then and answer all their questions as best you can. They'll almost certainly want a test drive as well. They may even want you to drive it as well so they can judge your driving style!
Depending on how confident you are in the thing, maybe suggest to the prospective buyer that they do an AA or RAC check thing. If that comes from you they'll be more inclined to believe the stuff you tell them.
Finally, be prepared for a little bit of wiggle room on the asking price. If necessary, stick a couple of % on what your really want to the asking price and negotiate down. Don't be bullied into selling for less than you want.
In our experience, unless the Px price is vastly adrift from the true value, it just isn't worth the hassle. We've tried on both ebay and auto trader and had a succession of people who were tyre kickers or wanted to pay half now and half the following month or bid and won on ebay and just didn't turn up/decided against it, despite full photos and an honest description.
Maybe worth doing to RAC check yourself to show people. Having recently bought a car and looked into lots that's one thing that convinced me on the current one. It costs betwee £6 - £10 depending on where you go to get it done, personally I just used RAC but my Dad found it cheaper elsewhere. Honest photos, realistic price that you're willing to come down a bit on and a good reason for selling it helps. I've found the most convincing reason 'need a bigger car to put the kids in'.
Autotrader or ebay should both be good, both places I looked to buy a car. Ebay your buyer has the advantage of being able to get Nectar points!
