Knitting socks

I love knitting, but I don't much like knitting socks. Honestly, I prefer working with thick cushy bulky yarn, not fingering weight threads. Hats and neckwarmers and gloves, oh my. The vital items of clothing to keep one's loved ones protected through northern winters. Surely everyone has a warm coat, but there is nothing quite like a hat hand-knit ( Read more... )

I will knit my next pair of socks when someone holds a gun to my head and says I must knit socks now. Really didn't enjoy the process, and they don't fit well anyway. Turns out to be a yarn error rather than a knitting error, but that doesn't make me feel any more forgiving toward the whole sock-making process.

Yes, but the first time you knit anything new there's bound to be problems like that, right? I can't remember the last time I made something I hadn't made exactly the same way a few times before, and didn't have to frog it back a couple of times.

I hear you on the frustration, though. Very, very much.
