Dream Their Sleep

A hush: the calm before the stand-off.

Of all the ways she’d imagined this-no, that was wrong: she hadn’t imagined this, hadn’t put any thought into it whatsoever-Who are you kidding, Laura…? Semantics. Of all the discussions she’d imagined herself having with him-Is that what the kids are calling it nowadays-she had never ( Read more... )

Thanks! I was a little afraid of making her sound crazy, but it seemed to fit.

I'm feeling all giddy and powerful now .... oh wait, you want a review and not me celebrating the fact that you wrote this, right? Ok, fine. I'll hold off on invading a small country or starting any wars with my new-found power - for now. In all seriousness, I am so happy that you wrote this. It had the potential to be such a cute and fun scene - and you most certainly delivered! I can't count how many times I literally giggled, actually giggled while reading this. Laura and Bill were so adorable. I love how they had that awkward feeling yet what they both wanted was palpable and barely beyond reach. And who wouldn't love a story that includes Laura/Bill deciding to share a bed and then sharing one hot kiss before climbing into bed together - finally? I know I did. I'm so glad that this idea got stuck in your head. We didn't get to see this particular decision on screen so now I have your scene to fill-in the gaps!

Ha! A review... celebration... it's all one in the same. :) I'm so glad you liked this. I almost held off on writing it because I didn't want you to think I'd just snatched your idea. But honestly, the second I read your comment, the dialogue started to form, and the plot bunnies began to jump all over the place and insisted I type it up. I think they're a little obsessed with the idea of A/R being alone (and going to bed) in Bill's quarters, actually. But who wouldn't be.... Thanks again!

I'm very, very glad you wrote it! I'm rather new to writing for A/R but I am starting to know the feeling of them getting in your head and refusing to leave until you write something down.

And he’s talking, Laura-at least pretend you’re paying attention. - fabulous line. So true.

I loved this! You really have a good sense of who Bill and Laura are. I could absolutely see this happening. (And am quite sorry that we didn't.)

Thank you! Your thinking A/R are in character really means a lot---it's one of the things that still has me a little nervous.

I loved this :) For me the best fics are those where I can see the scene playing out in my head as I read - and this is certainly one of those :)

Thank you! I tend to kind of see everything before I write it and then have to find a way to get it all across... I'm so glad you thought it worked. :)
