Wasn't there some theory that her son was murdered, or something? He overdosed on prescription drugs, but I heard that foul play was somehow suspected. Maybe there is some serial killer targetting annoying celebrities and their families.

The whole thing is really quite sad. Anna Nicole Smith lived what was, surely, an unhappy life. I am a little shocked by people who are glad- she wasn't Saddam Hussein! She was just a girl who clearly didn't have real love and respect for herself.

Susan and Deepti, you're right. I mean, it's hard to think of her as a role model -- but you've got to feel some sympathy for somebody as obviously lost as she was. Perhaps especially given the way so many people seemed (seem? I guess so) to delight in her suffering. That's just creepy.
