Come on, baby, in our dreams, we can live on misbehavior

Here are some things:

-I singlehandedly snapped off the showerhead in the bathroom I share with my brothers. That was interesting.

-I saw my cousin-x-times-removed for the first time in-- God, almost eight years?-- and discovered she is a massive PJO fan. INSTANT BONDING MOMENT. Also discovered she has become kind of a surly teen, which is less exciting.

-Last night I discovered what happens when an iSi canister clogs and the top gets stuck: it explodes. The epicenter was the middle of the Pastry kitchen, but I was standing maybe 20 feet away and I still got totally splattered. I wish I had gotten a picture of the kitchen, but we were too busy destroying the evidence cleaning madly to think of that. I hope nobody who ordered dessert last night was allergic to strawberries, because there was not a single thing untouched by strawberry foam. Thank God our boss had already left for the night!

-Eczema is just no fun, yo.

-Wouldn't the world be a better place is everyone was just nice to each other? If people just stopped sometimes and thought about how they treated each other, we could all be so much happier.

-Sometimes I love James Kochalka way too much to function.

-My Pastry coworkers, my mom, and the Pretty One all think I should dye/streak my hair and/or get bangs. The prospect of this is scary, yet... slightly intriguing?

-My mom, stepdad, and the Cool One just got home from a two-week trip to Peru, where they climbed Machu Picchu, encountered grilled guinea pig, and witnessed a pressure cooker explode on someone. My mom brought home lots of cool things, including a new purse (orange!) and a pair of earrings (lovely!) for me. I also have even more respect and gratitude for her than I did before, if that's even possible, because I spent the two weeks she was gone taking care of the cooking, shopping, cleaning, watering, laundry, and all other house-related tasks, in addition to taking care of my grandma, who lives nearby. After two weeks, I was so ready to be done, and I only had myself and the Pretty One to look after, and not three other people on top of that. My mom is amazing. If I grow up to be even half as strong and smart and capable and beautiful as she is, I will be set for life.

-So first there was the dishwasher-turned-busboy who kept telling me he was in love with me and trying to kiss me and repeatedly sent me friend requests on Facebook. He turned out to be married and have two kids. And then there was this dishwasher/prep cook that kept telling me through one of my coworkers that he liked me and was going to take English classes so he could date me. And now he's been fired because apparently he's a meth dealer. I just. Why?

I actually have other Serious Type Things to talk about, as well as lots and lots of fic recs, but I guess I'll leave all that for another entry. I HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL AND YOUR LIVES ARE SHINY AND WONDERFUL AND I LOVE YOU ALL.
