Hmm, just google "dvd region hack" and then the brand of your DVD player and I'm sure you'll be able to find the remote control codes. Or use this website:
And also, I just use VLC to watch the subs together. You can go to open file or whatever and they give you the option of putting subtitles and so you just open up the .srt file there (along with the video file)...I hope that made sense XD We'll try putting up a post about how to use subs XD

Um, about the subs, I think you were talking about our soft-subs which are in .srt format right? Well, one of our subbers explained it to one person here:
