Oh my Lord...vent vent vent

No sooner do I get over a really bad cold when I get pushed up two bananas in supervisorship.  I'm a permanent 3rd banana, but the top banana left and so I'm the acting 2nd banana.  The permanent 2nd banana is out as is her boss so I'm in command of, not one, but two organizations.  It has been a sh*tstorm of administration...performance reviews,

Thank you! It was a great trip. The bump up is just temporary, but I am waiting on word if I will take command of unit 2. Right now, they get the work of two people out of me. :\

Thank you! That is something that I will never cease to enjoy is how I can haul my practice stuff with me wherever I go.

Oh, I always wonder whether I'm truly cut out for all of this responsibility. Making all of these crazy decisions and trying to know what is right.

One of my mentors told me to always admit to fault, but always appear confident of the rightness of your decision. I think I do put on a good show in standing in front of the team and saying, "Ok, this is what we're going to do."

I do have a good skill in distilling a problem down to 'what is the issue and what are our courses of action?'

If I do have one realistic critique of the individual above me it's that she has great difficulty in being concise in that regard and we can spend a hour talking about a one minute problem.

Ugh, I had to participate in a disciplinary procedure too. Never a pleasant thing.

I know...it's even worse when it is somebody you care about deeply; I know I've had to deal with a few mutinies on my hands. I couldn't understand why, I treated them with so much respect and always sought their needs ahead of my own. Sometimes people just want more, be careful as always.

I'm glad you haven't had to deal with the problems I have, your heart stays so much more compassionate that way; I know you'll soon be making the position a noteworthy one, you have so much to give. Do not be swayed by others my love, listen to your heart and feel your guidance from your soul. You are born to be there, you were made to be.

I totally empathize with what you mean by those mutinies. I still grouse at any mention of Octopus. It seems that she survived the inquiries and actually got promoted in spite of her awful behavior. She had me so snowed. I did everything I could to help her and she stabbed me and 50 other people in the back.

I do try to stay compassionate! It's hard, but I think I have a deep sense of empathy in spite of my attempts to eradicated it. :p

I do so love speaking with you on these things. I always give me great insight. :)

Some of these reports are so meaningless, they are reports for reports sake. One asked how many pages are such and such manual? How many manuals will be written this year? I'm going to buy the 'magic 8 ball' to answer many of those questions.
