Ok, this may well be the stupidest way this has ever been done, but my thesis prospectus deadline is next week, and I still haven't chosen a topic. I was going to do a documentary on Christan youth culture in the US, but I decided that committing myself to completing a documentary in such a short period of time, especially one on young people that ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm thinking that might be a lot of fun, plus it would give me a totally valid excuse for buying the Hitchcock DVD collection I've had my eye on.

However, it would probably be easier to get faculty sponsorship for the Shakespeare one. And I could write about Howard Keel, (my ultimate academic goal).

Hmmm... That is a dilemma. I'm totally biased, I guess. But I do love Howard Keel either way.

I think the Shakespeare would be facinating. I would personally love to read/watch/sit in on your bacc for it (though I know it's a long way away, thank God). When we studied Hamlet in 12th grade we watched several different versions, some traditional, some not. It begs so many questions. There is more meat to it also, and more scholarly business to dig into.

But, as always, do as the Lord wills.
