I get a good laugh when hearing out other people's Tagalog vocabularies because I realize I am barely scratching the wide range of Tagalog words when I speak.

For instance, awhile ago I emailed Auntie Arlyn...

Me: Hi Auntie, I received this letter from Deutsche Bank. I almost forgot about it Auntie. But I don't understand what it says.

mga ganyan din lang na mga bagay ang nagpapasaya sa akin sa opisina. katulad na lamang ng memo ng pinuno namin na nagsabing bawal mag "facing" (facebook) tuwing oras ng trabaho. at ang isa pang naming katrabaho na taga europa na nagsabing "thank you, i am your borrower" (ang ibig nyang sabihin ay 'I owe you one')

ang bababaw pero nakakatuwa pa din.

The best things in life are... "mababaw"! :)

Pero Ate, hindi kita ma-picture na ganyan magsalita in real life!

you should talk to bubu. he has expressions like,

"bat-si na tayo!" (sibat meaning alis na daw kami)
or:

him: hindi ninyo naman kailangan pa ng lon-pa.
me: anong lon-pa?
him: pantalon?

many other expressions. but my favorite one would be:

mat sala. :) he always says salam at instead of the usual thanks.

Oo nga. It would take them a long, long time to get this. And to appreciate what it means!
