I'm finally finished with my dress! Wooooo!

My Alice costume is finished! I conned my friend into being the Ten of Clubs for Dragoncon, so hopefully I'll have some pictures at Dragoncon of me with him.

In the meantime, a photo of me in my Alice costume here:

Pardon my looking like utter crap. I've been working on costumes almost non-stop for the past week and it's starting to take its toll.

That being said: The China Blue dye from Dylon was absolutely horrible and didn't make a mark on it. Then I tried iDye's Royal Blue, which was waaaaay too dark. Then, this dress was done with iDye's Turquoise and 3/4 cup of salt instead of the full cup. I think the color is perfect, if a bit too bright.

Details: The "apron" edging is actually crochet trim, which we actually think is more true-to-costume. The color is off on the trim, but we didn't have time to dye it. The boots are true Fluevog Inges. (Mine are black as opposed to Alice's purple, but I jumped at the chance when I saw them on Ebay. They're the same boots. I'm not about to pooh-pooh the color.) Dress pattern is Simplicity 2868 with an added kick pleat in the back. (We had to modify the neckline, and I do not recommend the pattern for shorter people, as you will have to cut the waist down 3-4 inches. I speak from experience.) I'm not doing the coat because it's hot in Atlanta Labor Day weekend!

I want to see your finished products if you've got them done. Post 'em!
