Oh wow you're making the costume? Do you have a template that you're using for the dress and coat?

I'm digging through my mom's old patterns for something that looks like Alice's. (She used to make her own clothes back in the 60s/70s, so she has a lot of patterns that would work) Still haven't decided on a pattern for the coat, though.

I thought the mock pinafore design of Alice's dress was so smart when I saw it. It was a nice throwback to the source material and it really kicked me into making her costume a pet project of mine for next year's NYCC. Ah and it was hard not to enjoy hatter's costume - love that hat.

I loved the 9 and 10 of Clubs too! There were so many minor details that were just amazing to see - my favorite being the outline their capes(?) made over their chests was a Club. Too wonderful.

I actually also liked the suits' costumes. It was simplistic in design but the printed card symbols on their suit jackets really tickled my fancy. :P

Once I saw the pinafore detail, my friend and I giggled. Because her outfit between the dojo and date with Jack really wasn't doing it for me. But the pinafore worked.

I love Hatter's costume in that it's very him, and it says a lot about him. I love 10/9 of Clubs because it's so... flamboyant and ridiculous. Those hats and the club pendant, and how they can change outfits into a suit for them to be more work-friendly.

The suits were amazing. Actually, all of the costumes were amazing, if I think about it.

I'm trying to convince two friends of mine to be Hatter (since he has a passing resemblance to ALP) and 10 of Clubs (again, a passing resemblance to Zak Santiago, with his wife as Queen of Hearts) for DCon with me.

You forgot Caterpillar, darling!

Also, you may just convince me into coming to DCon without too much effort. Depends on what's goin' down at Afest this year.

I knew I was missing an important costume!!!

Come to Dcon, coooooooome to Dcon. (Think it's time to appeal to ALP's people and demand he come to Dragoncon. That will get you to Dcon.)
