His body close to mine, I felt something...

Emotion? Perhaps, but more likely instinct to open my eye a sliver to peer at his fair skin shimmering in what we knew to be the 'real' stars. Nick was reflecting the light of those stars beautifully and in the last second before I fell asleep he seemed to smile at me. The cool air's breeze ghosted over my shoulder, causing me to shudder. I yawned and opened both eyes and then sat up, holding the wool blanket to my bare chest with one hand and rubbing my eyes with the other. He was hunched over a telescope.

"Nick," I called.
"Yes?" He replied, a gentle smile on his familiar face.
"What could you be looking at in that dead sky above us?" I asked pulling on my boxers that had previously be strewn about. I gathered the blanket in my arms and got up going over to cover his back with my own and the blanket, hands wrapping around his chest. I rested my head between his shoulder blades and listened to him breathe. No response from Nick, knowing the his answer would be the stars. "My sister we-we used to sit out on the starriest of nights and look at the stars, she would run into the lake, and I would set up the telescope. I could have spent hours on end just staring at the sky."
"You know I go to the gate to retrieve the gate-proprietary material tomorrow."
I nodded solemnly my cheek rubbing against his back covered by the familiar lab coat. "It's not wrong to want to check up on the person you love is it?"
"No, it's not." The blonde looked longingly at me once more before reluctantly coaxing me back to sleep.

It wasn't until their meeting near the lockers that I would come realize Nick and Hei had much more in common. The similar ability companionably paired with the hurt and the lies made something again rise inside, it was a sharp pain, to my heart. I clutched the fabric above my heart tightly while running after the blonde who tore away from me. Damn it, I was the one stupid enough to trust you.
