I stunned meself. Saw War Horse yesterday, and didn't boo-hoo my arse off. Mind, I'm the sort who boo-hoos who notoriously used to boo-hoo over a dogfood commerical. Could not talk about the thing with friends without bursing into sobs. Looked on YouTube but can't find the one, but what I'm driving at here is I'm a push over for pets. Yes, Speilsburg had it with ET, but missed the boat with this one. I had no idea it was even possible to make a movie about a horse in jeapardy, without causing a me a major meltdown.

Yes, he is manipulative. I remember hearing the same said about Irving, who wrote the likes of The World According to Garp, also true. Some topics however are predisposed to make you weep. I happened watch Hachiko, Story of a Dog (or some such name) yesterday, and lo! Wept buckets, made my head heart. So that makes me think Spielberg totally blew War Horse. Oh well! Hatchiko can be my new 'I need a good cry' flick. I think what I need to do is stop deciding I need a good cry. I mean, what's that get you: a red, swollen face and snotty tissues?
