yeah i cherish electricity. after that big storm we had here earlier, the one where the cyclone went and thrashed up bunbury, my power was out for 28 hours and my lattice blew right off, and my garage door blew in. at my folks house, they had ridge capping fly off their roof and all the neighbours gum trees fell over. the other neighbour had his great big global satellite dish ripped off its pole, and numerous peoples sheds went bounding over fences.

28hrs without power! damn, dont know what Id do for that long, theres only so much you can sleep :-P
and id be spewing if I lost our satellite dish - not only is it scary, but I dont know what we'd do without Foxtel !

we were lucky in Port Hedland during Cyclone Season - all (or most) of the power was underground so we rarely lost it. We'd sit inside playing computer games all day. I used to kick my mums arse at Crash Bandicoot & Doom ... hehe :-)

haha this satellite dish wasnt a little foxtel one - its a big muthafucker about 4 or 5m in diameter, sits on a separate huge pole, and gets all the commercial television stations in the world just about. our neighbour payed some incredible amount of money for it - it was all imported from dubai in united emirates.

the black out wasnt that bad, it was more of a nuisance not being able to use the microwave, kettle, oven, hairdryer, etc. plus all the milk products and some meat went off in my fridge so i had to buy a little petrol powered generator and have that putting away on the veradah.
