I worked gate by myself for the first time yesterday and when I counted out, I found that I had handled over three thousand dollars' worth of transactions.  It was ridiculously trippy.  I came up a dollar short, but apparently that's really good for one's first day.  (The more experienced person ahead of me in the count-out was over by two dollars ( Read more... )

I bet people pay with hundreds in that situation because they're tourists visiting the zoo on a vacation, and when you're getting money out of the bank to take a vacation you're as likely to get it/ask for it in a larger increment than in 20s. Now why people do THAT is a mystery I can't solve, it's just something i've observed.

At my last job we'd get written up for a $5 difference. Hmm. I wonder who decides what = YOU'RE IN TRUH-BLE?
