Your dream may become a reality. Back in 2009 Zemeckis mentioned he wanted to do a sequel. Odds are good if he does do it, he's going to utilize that unsettling Uncanny Valley mo-cap he's become notorious for.

The sad thing is the animated parts of WFRR are just as good as anything that could be done today to me, I don't feel like it needs to be 3D-ed or anything extra :(
