I'm dictating this right now and using Dragon NaturallySpeaking ten and windows 8. It was a long hard battle to get this to recognize my voice. Part of the reason is I am using this with the built-in microphone versus a headset like I usually used to use. It seems to think I have an accent but I guess that's just one of those things. Dragon NaturallySpeaking10 actually looks pretty useful :)

It really is, the only annoying part of it is it doesn't capitalize the beginning of sentences sometimes and you have to say when you want a period at the end of the sentence. So actually saying the word like for example "a period of time" sometimes turns out wrong. But on the upside I actually get to use my full vocabulary without having to worry about the particulars that I'm terrible at spelling. And in comparison having to correct a few missed words and punctuation takes far less time than trying to come up with the word that's remotely near what I mean to say. Words like obligation, necessary, reprehensible, that sort of thing... of course for certain things like saying him and H. I M. are still better typed :-)

Honestly nanowrimo feels a little like being drunk and writing and I never really did like the feeling of being drunk... - I'm dealing with that at the moment. I have to make myself not edit my writing a bajillion times :/

50,000 words is a pretty arbitrary limit anyway. A lot of good books are shorter than that.

Honestly I feel like learning the art of the short story. Collections of them sell pretty well online, and in the old days book chapters were pretty much each a story anyway :)
