Anyone going have extra tickets? Ticketmaster is balking! I hear there are still tickets at the box office, so worst case I'll just take my chances with that, but I'd rather not trek all the way into town just to be turned away.

Damn...box office sold out too. I'm going home now. In lieu of real memories of watching Autechre play live, I'm going to substitute this video of a cat playing the theremin and assume that Ae was at least as awesome. (If not quite as cute.)

If it makes you feel any better I'm at home just coming out form under a migraine. I'm trying to tell myself missing Ae won't be so bad as I have seen them 3 times before but it's not helping.

Actually, a ticket miraculously became available at the last minute, Deftly called me, and I headed down just in time to catch the show after all! They rocked like crazy...really. I mean, it still sounded pretty weird and Autechre-y on some levels, but it was the most danceable I've heard them be in years, too.

None of the weird sound issues they had last time I saw them, either. That would have been the Confield tour, I think. I've come to the conclusion that the Middle East downstairs has some kind of Oregon vortex like acoustic shit spot that I happened to be standing in that time, because I've talked to other people who saw that show and had no issues. But...whatever. Last night totally redeemed whatever bad memories I have of last time with its pure awesomeness.
