good question. mostly i've been computerless. my beloved desktop has problems i couldn't fix anymore. i needed something reliable, dependable & i needed it NOW, so i caved and was forced to purchase one of these:
Whee, a new laptop! Congratulations! I still have a desktop, and when it gets too old, I assume I'll get another one, but I bought an iPhone recently and it serves me well when I feel like being online while in bed :)
thanks honey! i'm still getting used to this flat keyboard and the mouse pad. i'm still going to fix my desktop. we (me & my kids) think we know where the problems stem from and i already got the new parts.
iphones are nice. thought about going that direction, but i really need more that what they can handle. maybe in a few years i'll change my mind! '->
i still need to get the wireless router hooked up, then i can have internet in bed too....wait, that sounded better in my head! LOL
i'm still getting used to this flat keyboard and the mouse pad I can relate, since I'm in the process of getting used to touchscreen keyboard.
iphones are nice. The downside is that you have to look down when typing text messages. I'm addicted to texting. That's why I still use my old Nokia as a regular cell phone. With those "old" phones, I can multitask and even type when walking around, without looking at the keys. So most of the time, I'm carrying around two phones, lol. What I love about iPhone though is that it's like a mini laptop. And I'm such a fan fiction addict. I got myself an ebook reader a few years ago and while it's super convenient for reading ebooks on the couch/in bed, I had to convert fan fics from html to pdf to put them on the reader. For most fics on LJ, it doesn't work, you get the adult content notice when converting directly to pdf. So I had to first copy them (including comments, I love reading comments) from LJ into a Word file and then convert it to pdf. So much work for barely half an hour of reading

Nice choice, I'm typing to you from an ASUS and the one before it was as well, never had any major dramas. Oh and might I say that's a lovely bag you have there, you'll have to tote that laptop around into coffee places and update us with latte in hand :p
Good to see you back, mom. I can so relate to being comperless since my laptop was recently in for repair and on Friday my brother-in-law was doing some gardening and went right through my tv/phone/internet cable. *sighs*
Well done to Mohawk Boy for finding you a bargain and I actually love your classic black bag. Shiny doesn't do it for me either so well done for resisting your sister's efforts to have you all blinged up!!
completely understand about being internet/phone connectionless. miss cupcake while playing with the dog tugged on my phone cable, at the exact moment i was trying to hook up my wireless router, BAM nothing! after i had my panic attack, i checked all connections to computer, modems, phone, but forgot to check connection to the wall LOL had the phone company repairperson come out, tell me everything was fine outside, then found the loose connection in the house!! i felt so dumb! all of that took 3 days of no internet! when the entire time it was right under my nose! *shakes head*
my sister is relentless at times, but i'm pretty damned stubborn when i want to be....which is all the time, so i can resist her blinging! lol
Bless dear little miss cupcake!! And isn't it awfully embarrassing when it takes a visit from the repairman to assure you there's nothing technically wrong and you just have a loose connection? Ouch!! What is even more painful is having no internet while the answer is right there for all to see; except us, obviously!
Glad you dug your heals in...I have a relentless sister too!! lol
