When I went to leave the house yesterday, I passed through the kitchen. And what did I see on the kitchen counter but....drumroll please....a little snake, about the size of a pencil. At that size, said snake will most likely be looking for insects and smaller frogs/toads as prey. Sort of a check/balance about whether or not you want to leave snake in house. *G* The KitnzOfApocalypse brought in a couple young snakes in the same general age range. One escaped (as in back out the door), one did not.

Carm can go on your list of reptile (particularly snake) references. I'm a passable OK; like you mentioned can be pretty positive on a negative ID (Not Copper, Moccasin, Coral, Rattler) but less so as to specific species of snake otherwise.

Well, since I have no idea where it is now, I'm going to go on the assumption that it made its way outside. :P
But if I see it again it will be relocated.
