Should I warn for violence? :\
I dreamed that I got shot in the head. That was... Not fun.
The situation was that I was helping to capture an escaped convict, which was probably the fault of the Criminal Minds episode I saw last night. But in my dream, once the convict was caught, and me and the BAU got him to who we thought were the right people, we discovered, to our horror, we'd delivered him right into the hands of some upper government people who were going to whisk him away to freedom. And to insure they were not followed, all the people who were not in on it got shot by people who had just come out of the shadows, carrying rifles.
They shot everyone at close range, and I saw at least two people die before I ran and ducked behind an SUV. I should have gotten under it though, because no sooner did I duck did a shadowy figure loom over me with a rifle, pointed right at my head. I screamed, and turned away from them with my face to the ground. I was sure I was going to wake up before it happened. I've never died in a dream before, and I always hear that if you die in a dream, you die in real life. Then. BLAM.
It didn't hurt. I could feel the back of my head explode, and the blood run out, but it didn't hurt. And then the blackness faded in slowly, and my breathing slowed. It happened. I absolutely died. It was all just darkness for a couple of seconds. No sound, no sight, no breathing. Just nothingness. And then slowly, I began to almost fade awake, if that makes sense. It was a total reverse of my death, except I didn't go back to dreaming, I woke up. It was a slow fade wake up. I woke up to find myself laying on my stomach, much like I had been in my dream when I ducked behind the SUV. So I basically woke up in the same position I had died in.
It was disconcerting, but I didn't feel scared, even though the dream itself was extremely frightening. I kind of just laid where I was thinking, and then tweeted about it so I wouldn't forget it. I didn't really want to go back to sleep, I'd had a few other disturbing dreams prior to that one as well, but... idk. It was a really weird experience. I don't know what to think about it.
