I was in Turkey between 8-27th of June. I visited my family and together we made a holiday for 10 days in Bodrum. Gazihan also came from the US. It was wonderful to see my family again, I've missed them so much! I've also missed mum's meals, döner, stuffed mussels and everything Turkish. I couldn't have enough! :)

Last week Viola had holiday so we were down in Rickenbach between Friday and Tuesday. It was very nice to see the folks again. Although they speak heavy dialect, including Viola when she's down there, I understood nearly everything they said and even could contribute to the conversation. I also laughed as you all did when Spongebob failed in the driving exam. I thought since I already have a Turkisch driving licence and drove in a chaotic traffic for 6 years, I would have no problem whatsoever with a new driving exam here in Germany where order rules on the streets. At last the time has come. I've been living in this country and learning the language for a year now. Till today I sent about 18 job applications, 5 of them were blind. And today came the first call for an interview. It's an assitant doctor position for surgery in St.Josef Hospital in Zell am Mosel (86km to us). Actually I'm not so very hopeful ( Read more... )

It's a long process upgrading Turkish driving licence here in Germany. The Turkish licence is valid for only 6 months after entering the country, it must be upgraded to a EU licence to be able to drive later than that. Today I postphoned my military service until September 2008 having work permit abroad!

We visited Diana and Cedric in Arnhem in the Netherlands. It was a really very nice weekend. We walked around the city and went to zoo, which is one of the biggest zoos in whole Europe. We also played Starcraft with Cedric :) The city is really very cute like Nijmegen but bigger I suppose. The Netherlands is a beautiful country with all aspects. ( Read more... )
