On Sunday, I ran the senior awards brunch, a two-hour event where scholarships and awards from various organizations but particularly the PTSA, gives out awards to recognize seniors. I'm going to an introductory meeting to volunteer with the Bay Area Wilderness Training organization next week, it does a lot of work to get city kids out in nature. I love that your school promotes this as much as it does along with the science education.

I think it is very important to keep youth tied to nature, to be aware of it, to feel responsible for it. You'd be surprised how many inner city kids live less than 5 miles from the beach and have never been there.
