Very cool! My daughter used to call bananas "macks". Yeah, I've got nothing, no idea how or why, just sort of happened. That, and "a-boop" was "open". I even tried the two headed monster thing from Sesame Street going "o" pausing, then saying "pen". Doing it with her repeating and gradually making the pause more & more brief between "o" & "pen" until I say "open" and she happily says "a-boop" and I give myself a big ol' face-palm.

Now, though, my daughter is well on her way to mastering sarcasm. Fortunately, she tries to use it comically as opposed to vindictively. Gotta take the small victories.

While I am grateful for the times I have now, I do miss the times you are currently writing about, just as I'm sure you miss Erika being that age. A happy sort of sad, but happy all the same.

It is, as her language continues to develop; it's a beautiful thing. This week, she's working on "yeshh" [yes] and "nnooooooo"
