Kaiser Chiefs sting (not big, not clever, but it brightens my day)

"oh my god i can't believe it / i've never written songs this shit before"

it's annoying that their lead singer was quite funny on never mind the buzzcocks.

i think i might start calling them Handker Chieves.

That's hilarious. I don't even know if I'm being ironic, the NME has got me in a tizzy with what's cool and what's shit... ARGH! I need a new magazine to tell me what to think. Why the caps rationing, moo-face? That's not like you. I keep missing NMTB in it's shiny new Sunday slot *shakes fist*. Tim is coming back to pick stuff up on Thursday then is back to London I think. Well, he's not staying, that's for sure *shakes angry fist*. i have no fists left to type with or press shift with. is that why no caps in your entry? too many fists shaken at hanker chieves?

yes. yes it is.

no i just can't be arsed with capitals - it takes me alot longer to type.

i thought about going for

"oh my god i can't believe it / i've never been this far away from good"

i also think that the line

"sucked more blood than a backstreet dentist" doesn't make sense, cos backstreet dentists only draw blood. I think a better line would have been
"sucked more blood than a vampire apprentice". but then they wouldn't have got the "The Day Today" reference in.

Loose Lips Sink Ships is the new best magazine.

Plan b magazine is also rather fine. Current cover stars though are Smoosh. In case you aren't familiar with Smoosh, they are two American girls aged 10 and 12 who play indiepop. They should be terrible by rights, but somehow they're actually quite good, playing shows supporting the likes of Sleater-Kinney and people. My friend played me their stuff before I'd seen their picture and I couldn't believe how young they were. Liking them feels so wrong.
Still, I digress. What I was trying to say is that Plan b is a good magazine. www.tangents.co.uk on the interweb is good for indiepop too.

I wish I'd been as cool as Smoosh when I was 10. I wish I was that cool now, come to think of it...

oh no, Ricky was on NMTB? Poor Sophie (Varian). He's her ex. And he's bloody everywhere.
Last night Alison my flatmate told me that her boss had told her that they met at catering college and used to be called the kaiser chefs and she believed him for ages. he he.
