There is supposedly a prescription med your doctor can prescribe that works ok. A friend of mine used it and is still smoke-free and I am going to talk to my doctor about it when I go to my appt in a week. Hell, I'm down to half a pack per day which is amazing since I'm sure you remember how much of a chimney I was back in Memphis. Not being surrounded by smokers all the time here has helped a lot as well.

Cant take it .. at all ever .... nope nope nope did that once and it wasnt a pretty thing .. imgain me more adgressive and mean as hell .. I think I will try something anything else first. That said I know people that dont have a bad time with it .. everyone is different and I would tell others to try just to keep a close eye on mood and all that.

Hate to say it, but the patch. It does work (at least keeping the cravings away.) Thinking I might go back on it myself today after all the fun I had at the dentist yesterday (first visit in 11 years..) Gonna have to wait until my next paycheck, but once you're off the big patch (phase 1), the others aren't nearly as bad. You can adjust how long you're on each just to keep yourself from going nuts if 2 weeks is too early to go down a size.

I went and bought non-menthols the other day and I can smoke about half the cig before I go "yuck" and throw it away. I'm like Forrest where I'm only smoking 1/2-3/4 pack a day now.

Oh well, back to work...

Too bad you can't use my method. I had a healthy respect for my dad's leather belt (didn't want it any where near my backside!), and since the only place I could safely smoke was not accessible to me, I had to go through withdrawal cravings using only fear of the belt as my motivator--same way with my younger brother (I mean he used the same method [grin]). And we were underage at a time when the smoking age was 16 years old--elementary students, thus it was super-addictive--I had begun chain-smoking two cigarettes at a time regularly and was working on three, maybe 6-10 cigarettes a day (what's that, a pack every 2-4 days?) in a two-three month period. It took me seven years to completely get over the addiction.
