The Sky People

Here is the next little plot bunny.  These are really supposed to be drabbles, but they always expand.  O_o  I'm fascinated as to how other cultures see Ten and Donna.  I also rarely write in first person, but this oneshot demanded it.  You can assume the TARDIS is translating for them ( Read more... )

Woah. Ahmazing! I loved the descriptions, especially " the woman had hair of such a bright red as to rival the sun as it sank to sleep." You have such a gift.

Absolutely beautiful. The Doctor would have a great affinity for Native Americans, for their purity of soul and openness to things outside their experience.

It always tickles me. So many writers (myself especially) always see the Doctor and Donna having twins! I wonder why this is? :-D

You've captured the native spirit so well. Lovely, lovely job.

I've read so much about how the Native Americans of the US Southwest, Mexico, and Central and South America seem to have stories and art about extraterrestrials. The Maya had carvings of figures in space suits on their pyramids, there are the Nazca Lines in Peru, and the Navajo, Hopi, and Apache spoke of Sky People. The Anasazi did as well. It seemed the perfect place to set Ten and Donna. =D

Twins just seem natural to me for Ten and Donna. =D

Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it.

Wow. Just... wow. This kind of storytelling is lovely. Have you thought about delving deeper into researching a culture to paint an even deeper picture? 'Cause you would do an awesome job.

And twins to cap the story. :DDDDD Love it!

I have actually. Not sure which one though. I might make an alien one up, though I have to admit, Shogunate Japan has been bobbing around.

Now would anything but twins do for those two? ;)

Thank you so much and I'm so glad you liked it.

I don't even know where to begin with this delectable fic. Native Americans are so rarely featured in stories (why is that?), so I love it that you have. I particularly like the spirituality you have so wonderfully shown.
Thank you for doing this. :D

I'm not sure why Native Americans aren't mentioned. They certainly were a more spiritual people and would be more receptive to aliens.

I am so glad you liked it. Thank you. =)
