So I'm working on crappy Pennsic shorts (aka puffy 16th century men's pants) cuz there's nothing better than hanging out in men's pants with a loose linen shirt and no stockings when it's a billion degrees outside.  Despite the fact that this is the epitome of crappy garb that will only make an appearance once per year, I am still sitting here ( Read more... )

Maybe this is your next growth opportunity? - Realize when good enough involves machine button holes, etc.?

And there is nothing wrong with making kick-around garb well, as long as you have the time for it and are not making yourself miserable.

I made the buttons because it had been years since I had stuffed buttons. Then I started on the buttonholes because, well, while I've sewn hundreds of eyelets I don't think I've ever done buttonholes before. It's like a dark tunnel you can't crawl out of...

I think I will make my linen shirts entirely by machine with serged seam finishes just to compensate. :)

Not a disease and doesn't need to be stopped. Just finished a linen Viking underdress for Pennsic, the linen apron to follow soon!
