Hi.. I just happened to come across your page. It is very interesting. I am from Boston and planning to move to SF to continue my post-grad at UCSF. You got any advice for me? I have no friends or family in the west coast and it is hard to leave everything behind.
thanks. sorry i haven't gotten back to you till now, but SF is a fast paced and busy town full of busy ppl like myself. well, san francisco is a great and entertaining and friendly place. i'm sure you'll be fine. don't be afraid to meet people or else you'll feel lonely out here. ucsf is a BEAUTIFUL campus and you'll be surrounded by great people so don't be afraid to meet them. i guess that's what you'll need to work on most. um, anything city related that you need to know, you can find on Craigslist.com, sfgate.com, and sfstation.com, sfmuni.com. i've met ppl from the east coast - philly, boston, ny... and some of them couldn't take it out here and had to move back. i dunno how it is over there, but i don't know what's wrong with those ppl. haha jk, well, they couldnt find a good job so they moved back but i think they like the atmosphere. you need a bike and to learn public transportaion because if you have a car, you will be paying $30/day for parking in the city or you'll have to move your car every 2 hours or else you will rack
