Ali, I know you understand how difficult it is to find comforting words for you, because you've just lost someone that they truly love. I could very easily feed you a common line, but I never met your grandfather, and even if I had, any words I could come up with wouldn't change a thing, would they? I am so sorry that you have to bear his death, I am. The only real thing I can say, is that when I think of who I should be, I think of a man who has a brave heart, but is also full of love and compassion, like Jesus was, courageous and strong, but silent before the slaughter...and it strikes me that your grandfather was exactly that kind of man, the kind of man I can only hope someday to be, a silent lion. I love you like a sister.

you may never have met him, but that's exactly who he was.

i'll be in florida for kal's wedding, and i'm looking forward to seeing your awesome face then, brother. =)
