besides cheating on someone, telling that person you cheated on them is the most selfish thing one could do in the situation. honesty ain't the best policy. the right answer is: don't cheat on someone you care about. just don't. and if it happens, suffer in silence, or break it off with the person you cheated on. because they don't deserve to be hurt. but telling them would just be plain stupid.

I don't necessarily think that love can make anything work. I myself have to find someone who could put up with the fact that I'll be gone for years on end. There are a lot of other really horrible things that can happen.

But I do think that you can't have your meaningful relationship without love, and I do think that you need complete honesty in order to have love.

I think people should always tell. It will hurt. But them possibly finding out some other way will hurt them even more. Trust is so vital in every relationship- not just the one between you and your loved one. Having him/her find out that the person he/she is closest to lied/didn't tell would impact every relationship he/she has. Granted, it should never happen. But we all have moments of weakness and desperation.
