I gotta be honest...

I've never felt as clueless as I feel this semester. I am so over being a student, it's ridiculous. I feel like I'm just floating by, going through the motions, doing whatever I have to do to get to the finish line. So sad, coming from a future teacher, but it's true. I mean, 35 novels in a semester? Really, when? Why are none of the books (* ( Read more... )

Ahh that's why I loved Mableton so. The kids are cute, and I could even teach Math!

I just got a supply job teaching 7th grade Language Arts this fall. I'm a little nervous 'cause I'll have my own full classes instead of traveling to other teachers' rooms. Plz tell me 7th graders aren't that bad thx.

PS that birthday present I mentioned? I want to give you a hint. It has to do with spelling.

omg stop teasing me!! i heart spelling. and you.

7th graders are great, they really are. just not ones that take art. but that's another story for another time. i just hope you like reading essays. (see LJ posts jan-april 08.) i had an old lady teacher with old lady methods, so it was boring most of the time. but with the right teacher (*you), it can be awesome. where are you teaching and what does it mean when you say "supply?"

I heart you too! Which is why, when I saw this spelling-related thing at the VINTAGE STORE where we bought our record console, I got it right away. See how sly I am at slipping in more hints? I'll stop and be good now.

I have to read your thoughts jan-april, but I kind of do like reading essays. Depends on the topic always, but I have fun going over essays with kids in my tutoring classes. Mainly I'm teaching them that BS, as long as it's strategic and sounds really good, can get them pretty far in a lot of different essays.

Aw, I not only heart you, I heart your parenthetical. Your asterisked parenthetical, no less ( ... )

Exciting! I learned one time last semester about a really cool way to conduct a language arts class with constant writing. I'll have to look over those presentation notes and tell you about it sometime.

I would love to observe Tay with you. I'm already excited.

PS. I miss you too!!!! I will be contacting you at a further date about a possible hanging out opportunity in the near future!

I can't say much about the learning to teach part, but I was pretty much the same way my last year of school. But I lucked out and only had to take two classes my last semester which kicked all sorts of ass. Hang in there, you're on the home stretch :)

PS Congrats passing the GACE
