Luke and Reid both feel that same ache, but they need to come to a point, where they can give in and start trusting each other enough to let each other in.
Thank you so much! =)

"He was familiar with rejection, with feeling unwanted, being pushed away and not being good enough or being too much."
Ah, Luke! You're killing me!
"Reid leaned into the touch, faltering in his resilience for a split second -He’d never needed anyone-, before repressing the ache and shoving it down, away into the clouded, blurred pools of his mind until it drowned."
Ah Reid, You're killing me!
Fantastic story!

I love it when people quote specific lines, so thank you for that, too. ;)

I'm hooked on this story and looking forward to lots more of it. I do understand why Reid is so scared. I'm nervous myself. The fabric of existence has been messed up somehow and these dreams that they've been having are not to be taken lightly. What Reid doesn't know of course, is that letting Luke in would not make things worse but would probably make everything better. I'm not sure about that though. Not sure about anything here. I'm just hanging around for the excellent writing and the promised payoff, which now that we've seen a small start of it I seriously want to see more. :)

Reid will come to that realization eventually, that letting Luke in instead of shutting him out is the right thing to do here. And, yes, payoff, definitely! We've got a bit more angst coming up, but after that, there will actually be some mild fluff, which is a foreign concept for me after 30+ chapters of angst. ;)
