Do you have a theme song?

Ally McBeal tells us that your theme song should be a song you can play in your head that will always make you feel better, something that will you give you a lift when you walk down the street. Ally's was "Tell Him" by The Exciters. Mine is "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers, though I am somewhat resentful ( Read more... )

i thought ur theme song was radar love...the crotchtacular orange pants will never forgive you for rejecting them lissy!

i will have you know that i danced like a spazz (in public) to your theme song on saturday night and ritualistically reclaimed it from a song that has made me sad for the last two years into a song that makes me happy again. i strongly believe that scottish ginger twins should never be anything but happy making.

As to the question at hand, we have previously discussed this however i shall record for posterity that my theme song is Freedom by Wham not to be confused by Freedom '90 by George Michael. That is all.

i just realized that my scottish ginger twins comment could be construed in a smuttier way than i meant it...and i also ardently hope that Fred and George Weasley cannot be associated with Scotland in any way.

Wow, the Proclaimers. That song makes me feel really old because I remember when that song came out in the early-mid 90s.*quickly checks for gray hair*

Hmmm, I don't know if I actually have a theme song, and I'm horrible at actually picking a favorite song. As soon as I choose a favorite song, I want to immediately choose a different one.

But if I had to make a choice, I would choose the song, 'The Beautiful Briny' from the movie/musical Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I think that I will still enjoy that kids movie when I actually have gray hair.

I wanted to choose something from Shawn Colvin or Tina Turner, but really most of their music is sad or inane. I don't even want to think about what that says about me, though.

Wonderful choice! I think any song that makes you happy when you hear it, no matter how many times you've heard it, should qualify. I also think you can have a theme song for a certain period of your life as well. Like maybe Shawn Colvin or Tina Turner really expresses you at a certain age or time. I don't know really, but I might start picking my theme song for each year with The Proclaimers hanging out as my foundation theme song. :)

I loved that song when it came out and sang to it every time I heard it.

My choice is Settlin' by Sugarland. Singing along to it never fails to make me feel 10x better.
