The marathon was amazing. 
It's so difficult to describe without sounding airy and weird, so I'm going to try (and probably fail,) but I think I can say, without exageration, that it was maybe the most incredible experience of my life.  I finished about an hour after I had hoped to, but I care surprisingly little.  In fact, I'm glad to have been in
