[There was always a point to every celebration and this time it was to celebrate the New Year. Thor could gladly support having another party so soon after Christmas, only this was a little more worthwhile, he felt. After all, he hardly worshipped a mortal religion's deity to celebrate the being's birthday. This made a lot more sense

[ A party? Booze? A PARTY? Shiny! The device shows a young woman all bundled up in a coat and a very bright knit scarf all ready to go ... somewhere ]

So where's this big ol' party of yours? Just look for somethin' burnin'? [ She grins and laughs. ]

[He smiles warmly and sends the address of the Avengers House.]

The party is out back, so make your way around the house. Just... [He chuckles.] ...well, look for something burning!

Still a bit giggly and amused she checks out the address and makes her way there. And around to where the glow of something merrily burning away is. ]

[Thor greets her with a glass of champagne, handing it over with a polite nod in greeting.]

Welcome. I am glad you could come.

[ She takes the drink - it's less hard hitting than what she'd start with but hey, free drinks - and smiles. Widely. Because hello. ]

Well ain't you polite. Got a name?

Oh-- of course, my apologies. I am Thor, Son of Odin. [He smirks a little. He's terrible for calling himself a god but he's almost proud he didn't this time. Not that it'll take long for him to say it.]

's nice to meet ya Thor [ That name sounds familiar. Someone said it to her, just in passing though ... oh right. Tony. So this is the Thor he was talking about. Well then. She should've searched for him sooner to take a gander. ] I'm Kaylee. Kaylee Frye.

It is a pleasure to meet you, Kaylee Frye. [He bows his head once in greeting again.] Have you been in Aliunde long?

[ Oh ... oh my. Best decision of the day to come over to the party. ] Just 'Kaylee'. [ She's all smiles as she tries out the champagne he handed her. ] Nope. 's been just this side of a week now. I'm still learnin' 'bout where everythin' is.

[Thor smiles and nods once at the name he has to use.] A few months now. It takes quite a lot to adjust to this place. Even now I am unsure of much.

Have you anyone from your realm within this world?

[ Realm? Her realm? Oh ... wait. ]

Nope. 's just me from the crew sittin' here wonderin' why I got snatched up.

That is unfortunate. Perhaps you will make new friends, at least.

[He smiles lightly.] My younger brother, Loki, and my dear friend Sif. Although, those I live with are from the same universe, but a separate realm from Asgard.

Oh I hope so. Folks here just got all sorts of stories to tell. I keep meetin' those what say they lived on Earth-that-Was. [ AMAZING. SO AMAZING. ]

's real good ya got family 'round. An' a friend. No bein' lonely. They know 'bout the stuff you do. [ All right. Need to ask- ] Realm? 's Asgard a planet?

Earth-that-Was? [He raises a brow.] Then the mortals fail to protect their realm? Unfortunate. [And that unsettles him horribly because in the future he will be King of Asgard and therefore ruler of all the realms and it's his responsibility to protect the realms. Which means he has already failed.]

It's better than being alone, yes, you're right. [He smiles at that.] Yes and no. Have you ever heard of Yggdrasil, the Worlds Tree? It's a complicated system, but it consists of nine realms, Earth or Midgard as it is known to my people being one of them, Asgard being another. I come from Asgard, the Realm Eternal.

Well if by protect ya mean 'not use up everythin' the planet had an' then havin' to leave cos there was nothin' left' then yep, they did.

[ Her head tilts slightly. ] Ygg-drasil? [ Oh that was weird to say. ] Nope. Never heard of it 'fore. Or folks callin' Earth-that-Was 'Midgard'.

[Thor sighs slightly, then laughs, aware both of them being from other places than simply Earth is making it very complicated and he gently pats her shoulder.]

Let's find something better to speak about. Neither of us is doing very well here.
