[ The video feed turns on to show one (1) Professor Xavier, sitting at the small cafe that he's adopted in his time in Aliunde. Compared to the last time most saw him, he looks more anxious than happy. The idea of this city that they had no idea about doesn't sit too well with him. At all. ]For those of you who are preparing to go to this new found ( Read more... )

You know, I've been meaning to ask, can you boost your psychic voodoo with tech in any way?

[That's so vague, Charles, ugh.] And you'd tell the person, uh, if they were projecting?

If they wanted to talk about it. Otherwise, like most things, I'd just keep the knowledge to myself. [ He gives Tony a pointed look. ] Which, I assume means you want to talk about them.

[Oh boy, living in Charles's head must suck, keeping everyone's problems shoved up there along with his own.] Well I don't particularly want to, but I'd feel...bad...if you were picking up my bullshit at night on top of during the day.

I am used to it by this point. I pick up on everyone's thoughts and struggles in the house.

That doesn't mean you're obligated to deal with it. You can tell us to shut up, you know. [Except, well, his nightmares aren't exactly something he can just stop, as much as he'd like to. Not on his own, anyway, because Tony's equipped to handle stuff like PTSD like he's equipped to handle feelings and small children.]

I can't tell you to stop thinking, however. Especially when what is rattling on inside your head is nearly the same as what is rattling on inside mine. [ PTSD is a lovely thing-no, it isn't. Charles has been struggling with it since his accident. Even being able to walk hasn't fixed it entirely. ]

Can't you just like, block it - [Wait a second, he's just now realizing what Charles said. Maybe he just heard it wrong. So he's just going to stare at him until Charles reacts.]

[ Charles gives a weak chuckle. ] Life would be much simpler if I could block it. Unfortunately, I cant' turn it off, as I've explained before. And blocking things only works for so long. When they are loud thoughts, they leak through. Just as a they would with headphones.

[ He looks up at Tony. ] However, on the subject of what is going on in our heads? I believe that is a conversation best left in person.

I - yeah. Yeah. Uh, where are you? I'll come find you, if you want.

I'm at the cafe. Though, it might be better to have it in the home where no one can over hear.

[Tony nods.] Good point. I'll just wait here, shall I?

[Wait here and let the anxiety creep up over him in the meantime, because god he never would have guessed, Charles was so well put together. What if Tony had triggered something because he couldn't keep his stupid feelings to himself.]

Keep yourself busy while I'm on my way.

[ Because, honestly, don't be anxious Tony. ]

Take your time, don't worry about it. [A little worry is what Tony deserves for what he puts you through, Charles. At the very least.

Tony listens to Charles for once, though, and busies himself with fixing the toaster in the kitchen while he waits. Once that's done, he gives it a contemplative looks and then sets about upgrading the entire thing.]

[ Charles deserves all the worry? :C

He makes his way back to the house. He can't wait until he can walk properly and not have to worry about all of this. As he rolls inside he stops the wheelchair and slowly pushes himself out of it. Taking a deep breath he slowly makes his way to the kitchen, stretching his legs, but being cautious not over do it. ]

[Charles deserves no worrying, everyone else can do the worrying for him.

Tony doesn't look up when Charles enters the kitchen, keeping his eyes on the mechanical insides of the toaster.] Hope I didn't rush you.
