Corbin isn't a friend, exactly, he's more [she takes a moment to pause in thought because what on earth is he to her really, she's never quite had to define it in the past] I suppose he's more like a responsibility that was dumped in my lap where he helps me out and I try [admittedly not very hard at all] to keep him in line.

[She pauses for a moment before asking her question, deciding she might as well.] Where in Australia are you from? [Because only Australians have that sort of accent in her experience.]

[Even that might not help, she doesn't really hang out with positive people.] How can you not have-- Where on earth is Gran Pulse?

[That's going to be hilarious.] Cocoon? Is Cocoon an entirely separate world somewhere I would have never heard of or is it a facet of another world? [Well done Shirley you've probably just completely confused the entire situation.] I'm from Scotland. [A beat.] Earth.

Oh, Earth. [She nods knowingly, as if she's the foremost expert on Earth these days.] I've met a lot of people here from Earth. It's not the same, um, dimension as where I'm from? At least, that's how people have explained it.

[At least she would be the perkiest expert.] That makes sense, part of me isn't technically from Earth, it's from something sort of connected but only for certain people with certain abilities at hand. What's Gran Pulse like?

[It'll district her from her pissiness about this abduction to hear about other things. Hopefully.]

How long is a while? The longest I've ever been away from home has only been a few months. Although technically where I was then was like a second home so I doubt that even counts to be honest.
