[There's the sound of something metal falling and a yelp from Tony, followed by a scramble to pick up the phone.] Oh, shit, is it time already?

No promises there, these things just happen to me.

We'll keep working on it, shall we?

[She pauses outside the diner and drops Tony's hand.]

Ready?

[ironfail]

To enter the diner? Yeah, I think I can handle it. [He grins, leaning in to kiss her cheek and then opening the door for her.] After you.

Thank you. [She slips past him and heads for a booth in the back.]

[He follows, sitting down across from her.]

So, you come here often? [Yeah, that was supposed to sound like a cheesy pickup line.]

[Oh, God, Tony.]

No. You?

Every now and again.

[An elderly waitress comes up and greets Tony by name, handing them their menus and telling them to take their time looking.]

...Maybe a little more often than I was leading you to believe.

I know you too well to believe what you were trying to lead me to believe anyway.

[She turns her attention to the menu with a smirk.]

[Tony rolls his eyes and looks at his menu too even though he's pretty sure he knows what he wants.]

I would've expected you to think I never eat anything but coffee and take out.

[She smiles softly.]

I know you better than that too. You have a lot of alcohol too.

[ironfail]

I didn't think you'd count that as food.

[notbuiltforthis]

I don't count coffee either, if we're going to get technical.

[ironfail]

It has nutrients. [Caffeine is a nutrient, right?

The waitress comes back over and asks them if they're ready to order. Tony closes his menu and smiles.] I'll have a burger, Madge, the usual.

[He glances over at Pepper, daring her to say anything about him having a usual or knowing the nice old lady's name.]

Hardly.

[Pepper just rolls her eyes at Tony and gives Madge a smile.]

I'll take a burger too, please, no cheese and an extra tomato. Thank you.

And a couple of cokes too?

[Madge collects their menus, bustling away to get their drinks. When she comes back and sets the two tall glasses of coca cola in front of them, Tony thanks her and then grins at Pepper.]

I feel like I'm on a date back in high school.
