[ Denzel's sat at the bar of 7th Heaven. He's trying really, really hard to put on a brave face, but his bottom lip is trembling and it's taking all his will-power not to cry. ]

Who's your mom, Denzel? I can help you look for her.

My Mom's Tifa. She runs this bar. But I can't find her.

[sunnyworks]

[Oh dear, that likely means Tifa's gone home. But maybe she's still around! Vanille did say she'd help look.] And you checked everywhere in the bar? How about her apartment?

[xnotyetaherox]

I checked all over the bar and at home and the shops. [ Wibble. ] She's gone, hasn't she?

[Well, no point sugar coating it.] Sounds like she might have, Denzel. But it's okay, we can keep looking for her, just in case! Do you want me to come over?

Only if you're not busy. I wouldn't want to be any trouble...

[sunnyworks]

I'm not busy at all! You're at 7th Heaven now, right? I'll be over soon. Stay put til I get there, okay?

[A short while later, Vanille appears at the bar and lets herself in.] Denzel?

[xnotyetaherox]

[ Denzel is still sat at the bar looking thoroughly miserable. Poor kid. He needs a mom-hug. ] Vanille...

[sunnyworks]

[Mom hugs are just what he's gonna get! She zooms across the room and over to Denzel, wrapping him in a tight hug.] It's okay, everything's gonna be fine.

[ He clings to her and those tears he's been trying to hard to keep inside fall. ]

[sunnyworks]

[Vanille lets him cry all he wants, gently rubbing his back and making soothing sounds.]

[xnotyetaherox]

I want my mom. [ Sorry Vanille, he doesn't mean to whine, but his little heart is breaking. ]

[sunnyworks]

[Aww, he's making her so sad.] I know you do, honey. It's okay. Just let it all out.

[ He pulls away and wipes at his eyes, sniffling a little. ] I'm okay.
