Are you alright? [ Burned mouths are the worst! Denzel blows on his drink, getting whipped cream on his nose. ]

I'm fine. Should have known better, though. [She giggles, shaking her head. Vanille is the reason frozen dinners say "let cool for x minutes after heating."]

[ Poor Vanille! It could've happened to anyone... ] Would you like to share my muffin to make you feel better?

No, that's all yours. Maybe I'll get myself one later. [She takes another sip of her drink, making sure to blow on it first this time.]

[ He tucks into his muffin. Om nom nom chocolate is the best. He chews thoughtfully before swallowing. ] Do you think people remember being here when they go home?

[Vanille's silent for a moment, thinking carefully before she responds.] It's hard to tell. We only know about the ones who go home and then return, and they always remember being in Aliunde before. I'd like to think that our friends remember us no matter where they are.

I hope you're right! [ He gives a half smile and takes another bite of his muffin. Grown ups are usually right about these things. ]

Me too. [She pauses again, taking another sip of hot chocolate as an excuse for her silence.] So on the off chance that Tifa really has returned home... Will you be okay?

I'll be fine!! Me and Dad'll stick together!

[sunnyworks]

That's great. I'm glad you still have someone here, otherwise I'd offer to take you home with me. [She giggles, grinning playfully at him.]

[ He smiles back at her. ] Maybe I can visit lots!

[She reaches over and pats his arm.] You can come visit anytime you like. I live with Karolina Dean in the north end of the city, have you met her?

Hm. I don't think I have, the name doesn't sound familiar. [ He might know her if he saw her. ] Is she nice?

[sunnyworks]

She's super nice! You'd like her, I'm sure. And you've probably seen her around, she's tall and blonde and she can fly! And sometimes she glows all rainbow-like, it's lovely. [Realizing she's starting to ramble, Vanille clears her throat and concentrates on her drink.]
