What sort of teachers would you require?

Any kind. If you have any skills or subjects that you specialize in? We'll start there.

I have a joint bachelors in English and history, I can teach either of those seeing as I might as well try my hand at the thing I want to do with my life rather than finding another pub to work in.

You're more than welcome in either position. I have a group of high school age students who could use a teacher in either course.

Is there anything I should be aware of, interviews? Something along those lines?

[arethebettermen]

Given our situation in this city, I tend to lean towards more informal interviews. From there we can go over a course syllabus and come to an agreement on what should be required material.

That sounds agreeable and sensible. I have plenty of free time seeing as I'm jobless here so if you want to pick a time or date for that unless you want to conduct it over the phone.

Then it is a good thing I'm in need of an English teacher. It solves your issue of employment rather easily.

[ A few minutes later: ] Any time by the end of the week will do.

Students are often more opionated than adults though, I'm surely I'd be able to handle it.

They can be. Adults are just as opinionated, they merely know when not to say their thoughts.
